Life Update
Hello lovelies!
Some Days I’m Crushing It, Some Days I’m Just Surviving
So it’s been awhile since I’ve updated my website…. Let’s just say life got in the way of a lot of things this last year and half. With having a new baby and integrating life as a mother of three (with only two hands) it’s definitely been a journey. However, as funny as it is, looking into my sweet baby’s face, I can’t help but wish for these moments to last forever. Before I get too sappy… Let’s get to what this blog post is really about.. Motherhood update

This last year has been full of all kinds of new paths and excitement.
First, we moved from my son and daughter’s first home into what I hope will be our forever home. Our old home was beginning to be too crammed, and with deciding to expand our family, we decided to start looking around for what square footage would feel the best for our family. We happened to go to an open house and everything fell into place so perfectly that we knew it was meant to be. We have slowly been remodeling our home room by room and making it our own. In the process, we have run into numerous issues that we have had to correct. It’s been quite the process, but we are hopefully on the home stretch of hell.

Second, two months into moving into our new home my son was able to graduate from ABA and Occupational therapy. With his autism, we were actually very worried that it would end up causing stress for him and bring on new behaviors… Funny enough, he actually did incredibly well with the new house and the change was exactly what he needed to offer more space for his growing energy. He has officially been out of therapy for over a year now and he has blossomed into the sweetest little boy. Now, this is not to say there’s not still issues. Trust me… It still pops it’s head in every once in a while as a reminder that this is something he will have to handle for the rest of his life. It’s never gone, just hiding in the corner, waiting for its moment. But, the improvements he has been in the last few years has been amazing. It’s interesting to look back through old videos and see just how far he’s come in these short years.

Third, in continuation of me son’s story, we’ve begun homeschooling. I started homeschooling him slightly early because they started preschool style learning in his ABA, so I wanted to give him the same kind of structure at home for him to get used to the routine. Since then, he has moved onto Kindergarten and we have been working on his curriculum. I will be posting a slew of blog posts concerning my homeschooling journey with my kids as I introduce my daughter to preschool. As a woman who was homeschooled my entire life, I always hoped that I would be able to homeschool my own children, and offer them the type of lifestyle I was able to live growing up. As much as my children may drive me crazy everyday, there’s not a chance that I would give up all this time I have been able to have with my son and daughter since homeschooling them. It has been incredible. The struggle is real though, and I want to offer advice on the tactics that I have used with my homeschooling journey in the respect of dealing with autism and ADHD behaviors… That attention span is a tough one.

Lastly, our beautiful little baby girl was born. She has been the brightest little beacon of joy in this family. Since she was born, the kids have done great adapting to their new roles as big brother and big sister. Now that she’s started to be more mobile and playful, the kids are constantly trying to make her laugh, play dress up with her, chase her, etc. She just laughs and giggles at their craziness. As soon as she hears their voices, she takes off crawling to meet them. The love I see blossoming between the three of them is what makes all of the chaos of the day worth it. She was the missing puzzle piece of this family and everything feels complete now that she’s here.
So, there’s my last year and a half wrapped up by the significant turning points in our life. Now, that things have settled in our life, I’ll be uploading a lot more blog posts soon. I want to use this as an outlet for myself and if I help people along the way, the better for it. I also want to start some new categories such as homeschooling, crafts, patterns, food, etc.
